Twenty elderly residents, five WFWP committee members, and ten volunteers gathered on 7 February 2026 for a Chinese New Year celebration at Persatuan Kebajikan Orang OKU Selangor. The visit was organised by Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Malaysia to spread festive joy and foster intergenerational bonding, and to assure the elderly that they are loved, valued & not forgotten.
The programme began with welcoming remarks by Mr. Lim, caregiver of the home, who expressed appreciation for the visit and shared briefly about the home. WFWP Malaysia President Mdm Lina Cheng, in her speech, thanked the volunteers and donors for their support. She encouraged everyone to continue practising love, respect, and care for the elderly.
The visit was filled with interactive games and singing sessions that created a warm and lively atmosphere. The elderly actively participate
and the sound of laughter and music brightened the home. Ang pau (Red packets) were distributed as a symbol of respect & longevity for the festive season, and February birthdays were also celebrated.
WFWP Malaysia also contributed essential groceries and daily necessities to support the home and its residents. The visit concluded with fellowship over lunch, leaving both volunteers and residents with joyful and meaningful memories.
